Davey Morgan

Illustrator, Writer

Davey's writing journey, interwoven with musical undertones from playing the guitar and mandolin, began in 2005. This musical background subtly infused his early ventures into songwriting and devotional writing, enhancing the lyrical quality of his work. He completed his B.A. in Visual Art from Erskine College in 2007, further enriching his creative canvas. The self-publication of "Calvin the Monkey" in 2008 marked his initial foray into children's literature, reflecting his unique storytelling style.

In 2018, Davey took writing classes to further hone his skills and craft, a step that significantly contributed to his development as a writer. The year 2020 introduced a pivotal shift in his writing, leading to a period of intense creativity and renewed focus. This culminated in the publication of "Cayo and Patch: The Piso Crystal" in 2021, his inaugural children's comic book. This project not only represented his entry into the comic book genre but also showcased his evolving narrative abilities and artistic versatility.

His portfolio has since grown to encompass a diverse range of children's books, each narrated with a distinct voice and brought to life through his illustrations. The integration of his artistic skills not only adds a deeply personal and visually engaging dimension to his stories but also enables him to weave together art and writing, ensuring that his story ideas are fully expressed through both captivating illustrations and a compelling narrative. His recent foray into short story writing, with the compilation of an anthology, adds another facet to his diverse body of work.
